How PHY Wireless Works

    Software, Not Silicon

    A small kilobyte-scale memory footprint that resides on the baseband modem SoC or on the device. There is no additional hardware and no need for additional BOM to support GNSS or other location technologies.

    It Only Listens

    While in use, the device hears positioning signals that are transmitted by every cellular tower and computes the location without communicating with the network. The device can then utilize the location however the application requires and either keep it on the device (geofencing, breadcrumbing) or periodically transmit location data to a user’s dashboard.

  3. 03

    The Position Resolves on the Device

    Position is computed directly on the device, indoors or outdoors, using existing LTE or 5G signals. In private networks, location can be resolved to shelf level.
